Every year, the City of Melbourne presents an exciting line-up of free New Year’s Eve celebrations at entertainment precincts across the city, with live entertainment and two massive fireworks displays.

Start your 2011 in spectacular style – join the thousands of Melburnians and visitors who come to the central city to celebrate New Year's Eve, Melbourne style!

Take in magnificent fireworks, live music, roving performers and plenty more as you celebrate the year gone by and welcome in 2011 – right in the heart of the city.

Here’s what’s happening in the city this New Year’s Eve:

Family Festival

Families will enjoy the friendly and festive atmosphere at Yarra Park surrounding the MCG.

A big concert is planned (our line-up is still a secret but watch this space), plus roving performers, free activities and the much-loved 9.15pm fireworks show.

Bring a blanket and a picnic from 6pm for a relaxed and entertaining New Year’s Eve with all the family.
